OHP Availability?

Does anyone know what's going on with Pictorico OHP in the U.S. ?? Almost all of the online distributors seem to have it back ordered. Does anyone know where I might find it in 8.5 X 11 size (shipped to Texas) Inicidentally if that doesn't work, what other brands of inkjet transparencies are comparable??

In addition to Pictorico OHP, I've been using DAS Transfilm with my Epson 3800. You can get it from http://www.digitalartsupplies.com/store/Specialty_Papers.html
You might want to order some samples first to see if it works with your particular printer/curve combination.

I noticed the same thing, bought directly from the Pictorico site but they don't sell 8.5x11 only 13x19 in sheets

I'm printing Kallitype but for me the DAS product behaves exactly like Pictorico without any adjustment to my curve. It's a bit more expensive but it is available in a lot of sizes.

Steve - so, you're saying that you prepare you image in Pshop until it looks the way you want, invert it to a negative and then print directly to the 3800 with no other adjustments? I'll have to try it. What printer settings do you use?

Sorry for the misunderstanding Kerik, I meant to say that I use DAS with the same adjustment curve that I use with Pictorico. It's good stuff but, unfortunately, it's not magic.

Yeah, the scoundrels used to sell 11x17 also, but discontinued it. That was a bummer, because I do a lot of stuff sized 10x15. Now I waste a lot more film.

Here is a product that may satisfy your needs for a Pictorico OHP replacement:

It's slightly less expensive than Pictorico OHP and comes in 11x17 sizes! I have some sample sheets that I will be trying as soon as I get my NuArc setup in my studio.

From just looking at the sheets it seems very very similar to Pictorico OHP.

I think this material might be a really good substitute for Pic. OHP.

Don - this stuff might be the ticket - at least it's as 'thick' as OHP, hopefully the 'coating' is too. Looking forward to hearing how you find it compares to OHP.

Me too. 11x17 would be great. Would be nice to make 7x17s without so much waste. I always thought 13x19 was a odd size; I understand 13", but why 19" and not 20" or even better 21" long? 4-5x12s, a 12x20, I'm sure the list goes on and on.

That has to be their biggest seller, at least in volume. My skeptical side suggests they're discontinuing it to improve their bottom line.

On the other hand, maybe they're transitioning sheets to the Ultra-Premium product that they also produce. I wondered about why they have two different lines of a high quality product.

If not, it's the sheets.

At least in this size, one has the option of purchasing a 17" roll and cutting it to 11" sheets. This would probably save money in the long run, versus purchasing sheets in the 11"x17" size.

Thanks Neil. BTW, A nice discovery stemming from this tip is that Pictorico has 13"x66' rolls in the ultra premium line. Alot less expensive (for me anyway) than 13x19 sheets with waste factored in. So thanks again!

Anyone notice any glaring differences with the Ultra Premium?

In case anyone is still uncertain about the availability of Pictorico OHP - I received a 15 sheet pack of 8.5x11 from Bostick & Sullivan yesterday.

Just noticed Freestyle has an Arista brand of OHP now, 7 mil thick to Pictorico's 6.5 mil. Anyone tried this? 20 sheet for $16...They're calling it a drop-in replacement for Pictorico.
