Off camera flash

I am guessing this comes under camera and capture. I got a Nikon AS-15 hot shoe to pc adapter for my Nikon D3000. The separate flash works fine on the hot shoe and the cords all test positive for continuity. But I can not get a reading on the adapter contact point to pc outlet. Before I send a complaint to the seller on this item should I be able to get a reading to begin with? After all it could be I am wrong.

is that the little $8 dohicky from b/h or the one that comes with its own PC cord attached to it ?

ive never had trouble with either, but a word of warning, if you haven't already get a safety sync because
some of the flashes have a high enough trigger volatage that they might damage / fry the electronics of your camera.
nikon and wein make them and they are worth every penny you might spend.

Nikon AS15 adapter

AS-15

The connector in question is the Nikon AS-15 Brand Sync Terminal Adapter,Hot shoe to PC.
The camera hot shoe fires the flash, a Rohhs TT560, designed for Digital cameras including the Nikon D3000. I have heard the adapter described as a pass through circuit, which I assume to mean the hot shoe connector is wired directly to the PC Female connector on the side, in this case front, of the adapter which fits on the camera hot shoe. So I should be able to get a continuity reading with a volt ohm meter if the wiring is connected up internally. This is a long winded way of saying the unit is probably faulty and I should contact the seller and get a replacement.
