Would a NOVA Clubmate be suitable for FB B&W processing?

I notice they have an FB version of the Clubmate. What's the difference?

I use a Nova Quad for RC and FB. Fibre base works just fine in a vertical processor. I use print tongs in tandem with the Nova clip just to put less strain on the paper when lifting from slot to slot.

The FB version is inclined and uses a special print holder rather than the standard clip. This works only with the size of paper it's made for so if you buy a 16x12 processor you can't use 10x8 paper in the same holder for example. I've used a standard vertical quad Nova for years for both fibre and resin without problems, though with fibre anything bigger than 16x12 might need particular care in handling to avoid damaging the print.

I use a four-slot Nova tank for black and white RC and FB paper, and for RA4 colour processing (though not all at the same time!). It's a good idea to use two clips for the larger paper sizes. You would still want to use trays for any subsequent toning stages so that you can see what's going on.

I am a Nova quad user too, works very well for B&W, no particular reason a clubmate wouldn't work equally as well. As stated, the standard clips work finel for fiber or RC paper. Mine handles up to 11x14 and I usually use a single clip, but there are times and some papers where two would be better. Certainly for anything larger, I'd use two.

I have been using a clubmate for a number of years now, works just fine for most processes and every paper.
