I am currently considering purchasing the Nikon zoom telephoto Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED autofocus lens w/ vibration reduction (Mfr# 1996). Does anyone have experience with this lens or any comments about it? I take photos of fires and firefighters and hope this will allow me to get close shots when I am unable to be physically close to the action.
