NEW Weston movie

Its time Hollywood did a good one based on Edward Weston. I can see Dustin Hoffman as Weston & possibly Cameron Diaz as Charis. Casting of the others I will have to think about. Hoffman even looks a bit like Weston & as a character actor would be good in the role.

With all the girlfriends & models it should be one that would sell.
Any ideas?

This should be right up your alley. With the mess you have down in Fla now you probably have enough time to put this together. We have several contributors here on Apug who have deep pockets and a vested interest in maintaining film based photography as a viable art form. In other words, it's time to put the bite on the people who will fund this masterpiece. I'm sorry that I won't be around for the foreseeable future, if you happen to call. (something came up suddenly. I am sure that you understand) Good luck....

If you want the Hollywood version with A list stars I wouldn't be interested in the least - but if you want a low budget indie...

Would it have to be shot on 65 mm though? If I sold the kids I might be able to raise enough for the down payment on an Arri 765.

Ashley Judd played Tina Modotti in "Frieda". She could reprise that role.

I'll buy all that especially Susan Sarandon as Mather. But, isn't Ed Harris a little tall (for Weston anyway)?

Also, my impression of Weston from his Day Books is he wasn't so much romantic as, shall as say, horny. The romance was just part of his MO. He admitted he was always on the prowl.
