hey apug,
i want to introduce myself to the forums. i stumbled upon this site while doing a bit of research on film cameras. i recently picked up a well used (but well functioning) nikon fe with a 50mm f/1.8 series e lens. i paid $75 for it and i think i did well.
anyhow, my history in film? i took a summer high school photography class way back in 1993 - though to some maybe that's not long ago?
i used my parent's canon ae-1 program and we shot only black and white. in that class, we learned to shoot and develop all of our shots. it was a lot of fun. i had not shot black and white since and have forgotten much of the processing techniques. but i find it challenging, yet fun to make a switch from the "new" to the "old". i currently use a nikon d70 primarily for my photography interests.
well now that we are expecting our first child, i thought it would be appropriate that i photograph him using film rather than digital - kind of to keep a more grounded and natural feel to the photos and hope to keep and preserve the nostalgia when he grows up.
i just wanted to say hello everyone. i'm eager to learn more about film photography...well...in that frame of mind, just continue to learn more about photography in general. i'm sure there is the share of experienced shooters as well as the new shooters like myself. i look forward to learning from all of you.
see you all on the forums,
