Hi;
I will need to break down some Amidol for the people in my co-op in this bulk purchase deal. Can anyone recommend a supplier of good packaging? I am thinking of plastic HDPE bottles like this:
http://www.sks-bottle.com/340c/fin37.html
Picture Code G shows the size I plan on using. They cost $3.84 for a quantity of 12. It is 250cc capacity - anyone have any idea how many grams of Amidol this might hold? I would like to re-package in 500gram quantities.
As for the use of HDPE, most of my photo chemicals seem to be stored in these. The above website says one of the characterisitcs of HDPE is it's resistance to oxygen and HDPE is rated 'fair' at this.
If anyone has any better source or ideas for long-term storage of Amidol, I would appreciate any suggestions. I would like to find a dark bottle with better resistance to oxygen - but as far as I know even 'fair' resistance may be perfectly fine for storing Amidol for 20 years.
Thanks.
