Hi, anyone know where I can buy a cheap used ground glass off a 4x5, make and model of 4x5 is not important. I am in the San Francisco area. This is not for a camera but for a little optical experiment. I will have to cut the piece of glass down to make it smaller. Most of the camera shops I know around here no longer carry 4x5 accessories (if they ever did)

Thanks,
Scott

Why not just go to any glass shop and tell them what you need, they can frost whatever size you need. You can also use picture frame glass or plexiglas and abrade it with pipe compound, that works pretty well. You put the compound with water, in between two panes and rub as randomly as you can for 15 mins or so.

get your local glass guy to cut a piece the size you want and a piece to use as a grinding "blank" your local auto store should have valve grinding past (carborundum paste) use the fine paste as described by keith williams (above) ive made 5x7 and 8x10 screens this way its easy
