I am thinking to prepare for example titanium or platinum nanopowder inks to print on to paper.
There are hundreds of different nanopowders could be suspensioned in a liquid for to print on to paper.
It is impossible to correctly print for example oil paint colors , for example one have mercury inside and extremelly specific spectrum.
The difference is to watch a Van Gogh at museum and at the catalog.
The goal is to close the gap.
Scientist even print human skin with ordinary printers .
It wouldnt be so difficult.
What do you think ?

Thank you ,

There is one thing you will never be able to replicate in ink and that you are overseeing:

Many traditional artist oil painters of the past centuries, employed multiple (semi-)transparent layers of oil paints, called "glazes" to achieve the color and luminosity as we so much appreciate today. It is even so that oil paint layers become more transparent as they "age".

This can simply never be replicated in a basic ink-on-paper medium... and I am now even forgetting all the light and shadow effects of thick layers of paints, as employed by for example Rembrandt, but also many modern painters.

It is like trying to cut a diamond from a common kitchen salt crystal...

Marco ,

You are right but it doesnt diminish the value of conception.

I am an archaeologist , drum scanner operator and Heidelberg Serviceman and I am very well aware of the misconception of only printing with CMYK.
And ,
I am sure art collectors will start to demand the thick prints of the original art.
It is possible even todays technology. And I am sure they will do it with nanopowders. I am aware of layers in a painting but it is still better idea to create a nano mixture for the print on paper for these colors.

It is better than CMYK or RGB print.

What is my point , my point is to print with pigment mixtures not with only CMYK.

There are this kind of very expensive inks for print houses. For example , you can want to print a gold colored surface on to National Geographic. These inks for that.

You must look to the fact from here.

And everybody can prepare their black , grey inks with titanium , platinum or whatever they feel right nanopowders. Some of them are cheaper than you think.
