Anybody out there know what the thread size is on the lens? My crude measurements suggest 33,5 to 34mm. I trying to come up with a step ring combination to use my exsisting 52mm filters and lens hood.

I don't know that, but I do know that my Moscow-5 takes a 39.5mm series VI slip-on filter holder. Hope that helps.

I use the Series VI 39.5mm slip-on filter like Nathan on the Moskva 5. The 4 has a similar lens I thought.

I think it's 33.5

I ordered some 33.5 filters from some chap on ebay for my newly acquired Moskva-2. However, the seller seems to have let me down so haven't been able to test it.

Kodak, Tiffen, lots of folks made 'em. Kodak probably defined the 'Series'. You can find them on ebay easily enough. There used to be a local camera shop that had a big box full of retaining rings, old filters, and such. Maybe you can find a place like that. Kodak and Tiffen made good ones, I had a Harrison though that was just awful, wouldn't fit properly no matter what I did.

Now, what you need to know is what metric size fits that thread so you can get an a step up ring to thread into the Series VI filter holder. I THINK it's 43mm, but you check around the web and verify that. If so, then you want to get a 43->49mm adapter so you can use standard 49mm filters, for instance.
