Greetings, all. I had posted this over at Large Format a while back and received a couple of replies, including one from a person who posts here, but thought I'd see if someone else here may have a source or idea yet undiscovered. I have been trying for more than a month to get a reply from Manfrotto.
The star-shaped knobs on my used 3025 are hard for me to turn, in my advancing years, especially the forward tilt one, due to its placement. One responder at LGF has replaced his with some kind of furniture knob, which he found with the right screw already attached and simply had to shorten it. I have searched around and had trouble locating a good knob, and then would have to replace the screw with the help of someone with appropriate tools and know-how. I have seen a photo of one with a paddle- or handle-type replacement, but a knurled knob of suitable size would also suffice.
    Any ideas or sources?
    Thanks.

... and if your getting arthritic like I am, it might be worth investigating those adjustable levers. I think they are the type where the lever turns and then can be pulled up to be repositioned. Whenever I get some free time I'm thinking of cloning those onto my old 3047 knobs, which are getting very difficult for me to tighten... especially that darned forward tilt knob.

Are the knobs metric or english thread? Rockler tools has repositionable levers but I don't know which they are.
They've also got some nice woodworking tools and hardware. Nice sizes for building cameras and the like..

Thanks for the links. It looks at though I may be able to get something from one of them, as soon as I speak with Manfrotto's technical specialist tomorrow (unavailable today). I'll post back with the screw diameter and thread when I have it, as well as any knob or handle that works out.
