They said 'yes,' but I don't expect it, because there is only one week until the end of May, and the color reversal film has already jumped to July.

Really hoping they don't stop at just a single 100 speed slide film. A 200/400 speed slide film would be wonderful.

You are testing a brand new ISO 400 colour negative film and the only fuss you make about it is… sorry, you make no fuss about it?! You just casually half mention this?

It is expected to be about $2 to $3 cheaper than Kodak Ultramax 400, so I don’t really feel anything. I haven't shot 135 film in a long time, and my 135 cameras have been dried and sealed up. But I saw on social media that some people say Lucky C400 has better color reproduction than Kodak, which makes me very interested. When the weather improves in a few days, I want to try it myself. Apart from aliens appearing, there’s nothing on Earth that excites me.

Did you say "color reversal"? I had heard from Retro that Lucky were promising a color reversal film in 2026 ... is it really going to be in July? That would be awesome, even if it's delayed to later in 2026!

They have already postponed from May to July, and I estimate it can be postponed to September as well, because these are all odd-numbered months.

A new slide film would be awesome even if it was delayed to 2028. That's probably still before you will take delivery of your next batch of Fuji slide film (probably limited to 2 rolls)...

Fuji's film left me with the impression of being very expensive many years ago, and I generally don't touch luxury goods.

I applaud their ambition, and hope they go steady by perfecting 1-2 emulsions before going all direction all at once. My hope is one good C41 and one good E6 emulsion, in mainstream formats (135, 120, 4x5/8x10).

I have shot another roll of Lucky C200 120 alongside the original Harman Phoenix 200. I have to say that aesthetics aside, Lucky C200 represents a much more "normal" C41 film, in contrast to Phoenix's more exotic color palette. The Lucky C200 is also normal contrast and much less grainy in the shadows. I shot both film at ISO 100. Even though it is not a scientific comparison, I processed both in the same tank, and use same scanning flow (Epson V700 scan as slide/positive, and invert in Negative Labs Pro).

Most of your photos are really good. When a photo seems to have something to say, I think it's a good photo. This allows me to ignore the color of the film and the grain size, so I can't say who is good or bad. One thing I can be sure of is that I really dislike photos with very large distortions, like barrel distortions or pincushion distortions—I hate them.
