My 35 mm inserts have arrived for the universal negative carrier, but I'm not sure how to fit them. I haven't used the enlarger yet (absolute newbie). There are medium format glass plates in the carrier at the moment and it's not obvious to me how they come out and how the inserts go in. Any ideas?
Cheers

Hi Greg,

From memory you need to remove the glass - this is held in place by some slides that move in opposite directions to each other. Slide one up and one down and the glass will drop out. Replace the glass with the inserts and reset the slides

Should now be able to print 35mm with the universal carrier with crisp edges no problem now!

Make sure you give the universal neg carrier a whirl with 35mm too. I've printed some images showing the sprocket holes - nice touch to some images, and you can also get a ragged black edge that sometimes suits the subject too. Just need to make the blades a little wider than the neg and that's it!

Yep ... I'll be trying all that good stuff ... Just need to get the new laundry/darkroom finished. Benchtop and cupboards are in place, powerpoints, safelighting and exhaust fan are in. Just need to find some time to seal all the light leaks and I'll be good to go. I'm soooo excited!
