Looking for New England sites

I've been photographing abandoned places for the past few months (mainly industrial ruins like old factories). I live in Mass and have been going down to Rhode Island every now and then to the old mills. Any one know of abandoned places in the New England area?

not sure what you have photographed and what you haven't ...
you might check out the society for industrial archaeology

they have a southern and northern new england chapter.

you might also drive around the blackstone river corridor between providence and worcester - ( all along rt 146 ) lots of abandoned buildings big and small in towns & mill villages on that road or nearby, or if you are going towards new hampshire check out "stuff" east of rt 93 along the merrimack river ... not just lowell or lawrence, but the small towns in mass and new hampshire have all sorts of mill/factory and generally speaking abandoned "stuff".

Thanks, the Lowell/Lawrence area is where I have been looking, as well as Rhode Island.

hi again grady -

another thought is to travel a little bit to new hampshire - check out nashua, merrimack, manch-vegas ( manchester ) .. the mills / factories there are huge like some of the ones in lowel and lawrence... not small ones like in slatersville ...

you might be able to find a "industrial" tourbook - i think the sia put one out a few years ago or if you contact the state historic preservation office in whatever state you want to photograph in, they might be able to tell you if a book or "inventory" has been done ...
