Anyone here from Hiroshima (or familiar with the city)?

I will stay there for more than three weeks in April, visiting my Japanese girlfriend, spending my time (during office hours, when she's working) doing street photography with my M2 and 3 lenses max.

I'm looking for a good photo store where they sell a wide assortment of b&w film, as well as slide film, and where I can have it processed as well. In Osaka or Tokyo, they have Yodobashi Camera, but not in Hiroshima, as far as I know.

    Any suggestions welcome!

    Thanks,

    René.

You could try Japan yellow pages

to see whats there before you go, or get your girlfriend to check locally.

I'm sure its a case of finding a store, as the Japanese aren't known for keeping their camera equipment in the cupboard when they are out and about

It's been a while since I lived in Hiroshima but I used to shop at a great camera store near the Hondori arcarde (the big shopping arcade a block or two south of the Sogo Department store). It's is the main street (Hondori? my map doesn't say but that seems right to me) that has all the tram lines running north/south. Actually, there were a couple of camera shops there that sold all matter of cameras, film, and everything else. I don't remember their names at the moment, but they were quite good. I hope they're still there!

Thanks a lot Aurum and Rachelle! I know Hondori, but somehow I never noticed interesting camera stores in that area. But with this information, I know where to go first. Thanks!
