OK, something really photography related this time. Someone answer quick, before you-know-who hijacks this thread into another tie discussion......

I bought this on eBay some time ago, intending to play with it but never got around to it. It is a Rodenstock Imagon 360mm. It is in the original box, has the original instruction pamphlet, all 3 difusion discs, a greenish filter and some sort of metal collar. There is no shutter to the lens as it looks way too large for even a Packard (shutter, not the car).

Everything looks like it's in great condition. I'm sure this would cover 8x10, no?

Anyone ever use one of these? Do you have any images you could post made from it? (Like a nice nude or something??). Any idea how I control exposure - via a lens cap for instance?

Any tips on how to use it would be helpful.

Also, if anyone has one but is missing the pamphlet, I could scan it and e-mail it to you. Now, ain't that nice of me?

It's a door stop put out by Rodenstock for marketing purposes. Send it to me as soon as you can - I've got a cat that keeps banging into doors because he has a hat on his head ....

Oh, great. Now it's a thread about hats.

Hats make great shutters and lens shades and, if lined with aluminum foil, blocks the satellite signals that the worldwide digital camera syndicate is beaming down to fry your brain.

Hey, I posted this in the super-serious LF Cameras and Accessories thread discussion area. What the heck would Sean say if he read this? Art or Jorge or Francesco may report you guys and then where would you be, huh? In deep do-do, that's where!

But serisously, thanks for the the tip on the aluminum foil. I'm gonna go get some right now and make a hat out of it like in the movie "Signs", those sure were some cool looking hats. I bet that'll block those brain-frying rays for sure alright, yes sir.

Seriously, hats do make great shutters and lens shades. And as far as satellite beams being used to assimilate us all into the digital hive... well that is just common knowledge.

Digital makes one fat! Put your cat on a diet and only use BLACK & white. Black helps to make the fur less fat.

Ah, but it's a three legged cat with one eye and a graflex back. He IS large format.

Was it struck by lightning?

My cat was indeed struck by lightning while he was in a box. I did not know whether or not he had survived, but I didn't think opening the box was a good idea. You see, his name is Schroedinger ..... Schroedinger the Scheimpflug Cat.

He's the one they're referring to when they talk about swinging a cat!

Didn't Dr. Seuss write a book about this shutter?
