I am looking for a lens barrel that fits a lens that is currently in a Copal 3 shutter. Yep, just the opposite of what normal people do. I can recalibrate the aperture scale so it doesn't matter what lens it came from.

So, if any of you have that old barrel lying around, I could really use the help. Thanks,

John

The easiest one to find would be the barrel of a 355mm G-Claron. Hopefully someone has an extra that they no longer need (because the lens is in a shutter) and can give you a good deal.

If you're willing to part with your Copal 3 I may be willing to part with my barrel. Mine is brand new barrel for a 355 G-Claron. What is your Copal ? Is it a 3 or a 3S ? What lens is/was in it and what scale does it have? BTW, a 3S is useless to me (too small). I need one to accomodate my G-Claron.

Lets see what we can do here... Cheers

I just have the elements, no extra shutter, so I'll have to keep looking. Thanks.

I don't know if your camera can take Sinar lensboards directly or via an adaptor, but it it will the boards for DB and DBM mounted lenses will work with your lens cells. They are intended for mounting in front of the Sinar Copal shutter, but work just as well on their own. The DBM boards have a white ring with aperture numbers on them and allow you to manually set the shutter. The DB boards have an iris but it can only be set from the back of the board using a mechanism intended to couple to the shutter housing. Orphan boards for Copal 3 lens cells go quite cheaply on eBay, or you can find a sacrificial lens in such a board and junk the cells.
