Hello All:

First post, I hope that I have landed in the right place for this question. In any case I have a beautiful, nearly mint Leicaflex SL. I've run many rolls through it, went to shoot another this afternoon when I realized that the film counter wouldn't advance. It is stuck on 0. The film was advancing fine, taking pictures fine ect. I thought maybe I had a shutter problem so I sacrificed the roll of film to take a look. Everything fine. Any ideas? Or is this going to be an expensive repair of sorts? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Doesn't necessarily have to be an expensive repair. I used DAG. I had a shutter problem with my Leicaflex SL shutter. In the end it wasn't worth repairing the camera, but Don at DAG was very upfront about the pros and cons of a repair and he has a reputation for doing good work.

Sherry Krauter is also recommended very highly.

I'd check on photo.net, in the Leica forum archives in the "Service" category for the names and addresses of repair people.

Take care,

Cameras of these age almost always need a CLA. Unless you are sure it has been done recently.
If nothing is really wrong with the camera it will not cost you much and when ready will serve you well for another lifetime.
