To all who use this site for service manuals

Learn Camera Repair

I've recently had an issue getting files, as at end of checkout there was no PayPal prompt and my order got hung up without payment and no feedback from site owner, nor any response to my follow up emails for some two weeks.

Eventually site owner responded and had another person follow up. Had to make a PP payment to given email address and let him know it was paid, after which he unlocked the files purchased for download.

Site owner is dealing with some health issues, not sure how serious or how long that may last, so he was not monitoring inbox and thus was late responding.

So just in case you run into similar issue, there is a separate email address you may hear from eventually, but I am not posting it here as I am not clear whether that would be appropriate for the recipient. I was contacted forom his end directly as follow up to my inquiries.

All in all, site is still there to offer what it has, hopefully it will remain so. I am happy to have received the files I was after.

Just this week I ordered a few downloads.
One item was missing, but after emailing them it was promptly delivered to my mail box. So no great problem for me.

He is running a very valuable service for photographers all around the world.

I wish him a speedy recovery.

Many thanks from Bob UK

Just remember many of the manuals they are charging for they got for free and so can you if you look. Here's a couple of links worth checking:

The site used to have all content free. I don't blame them for going the small charge route. It used to be $1.00 per file, not it is comparably more, but most service manuals they have are nowhere to be found for free, unless shared. They have no copyright, so there is that.

Have you tried looking? You'll find most of them somewhere for free. if you check the first link I posted that has most of the same documents Learn Camera repair has. In fact, it's the archive of that site before they started charging. Try looking and you'll find. But if you're happy to pay someone to do it for you, despite the fact they ripped off people like me who spent time and money creating the documents in the first place and who refuse to acknowledge that, then carry on.

I have checked it yesterday, and looks like yes, there is a lot of stuff Camera Repair is charging now for. To that extent good to know, as I had no luck just searching in general.

I'm not familiar with the problem you are alluding to, but I'd be pissed too if I did something then got no credit.

Jusy downloaded a Pentax 645 service I paid for earlier. Turns out good thing I did, Free copy has pages missing on blow up charts (only half page is showing not the other half, the case on every page larger than letter/A4, whichever the original.

LCR has the largest selection by far, much of it is not available online anywhere else - at least this is my personal experience - especially the issues of the SPT Journal.

Providing it requires effort, I am happy to pay for it. Nobody forces me to buy there.

A download did not work, but the return process via PayPal worked. When I asked, I received a well-founded answer a little later.

You can always see things negatively but also positively. I stick to the latter

If you join the Learn Camera Repair group on Facebook you'll be able to get any member-uploaded file for free from the Files section. Unfortunately they're ordered by upload date, not alphabetically, but they're there. If you're philosophically or religiously opposed to Facebook, well, that's your choice.

Files that the site owner had to scan from donated or purchased manuals are only on the learncamerarepair.com web site for a fee. This covers his costs (scanners, manuals, and time) plus web-service charges because of the volume of data the site handles. He could make the files quite a bit smaller by using OCR, but the task of checking the results for such a large number of manuals is impractical.

I wouldn't elevate social media to the level of philosophy or religion, as there are entirely rational arguments for and against it.

I have formed my own opinion on the matter and I don't agree with it.

That's why I'm happy that LCR is available on the web.

You mean this one

Just downloaded it for free and all the pages are fine. Including the double page spreads. Maybe it's your pdf reader.
