It was quite good. I like his use of the pano format. A staunch supporter of film too.
Was it on TV or on the radio?
Television, on Newsworld channel.
I mixed up my time zones and missed it.
I saw the tralier a week or so earlier, and it looked interesting, but, as usual, life got too busy with other things...
one of the photographers at the paper thought it was interesting.
but I don't see when it will run next.
I missed on the show and can't find in my reading what 35mm pano camera he uses- he seemed to make quite fast exposures with no aid of a tripod.
Towell is one of the few members of Magnum I can still have respect for.
Seems you can watch the prog on the website, albeit in a very small format.
I saw the program and was very impressed. I thought that I knew his work, but I learned a lot more about him. I have seen quite a few of his prints first hand and I can tell you, he is an excellent printer on top of everything else.
Seems I also managed to miss the Towell twitter session! The date was wrong on the Magnum blog:
fuji vrs of the xpan i do believe.
"A staunch supporter of film too"
i wouldn't put too much stock in that... i know who does his film and the push to change is on.
