So Ive been batting around the idea of starting a website/group for large format photographers in this great state of Texas I love so.

I was fooling around just now in photoshop (doing my best to not actually work) and I came up with a logo-ish thing and the thought of making Tshirts of it would be kind of fun.

heres what I came up with.

would anyone be interested? I think Cafepress.com is a pretty economical place to get Tshirts printed.... (also... all Texans at heart are of course welcome  )

Hey Matt thats a nice logo. Heck I would even buy one. kind of like buying a Harley-Davidson T-shirt from different dealerships.

I'd be in. It would be great to meet some other LFers from nearby.

How many of us are there around the great nation of Texas, anyway? I've only ever seen one, and that was a couple years ago before I was back doing 4x5.

Austin's a great town to shoot. You're a lucky guy to live there, scooter!

I would be interested.

I've given some serious consideration to moving to Texas (the moisture and humidity of Hawaii is starting to affect my health) - I haven't made any decision yet though. I also have a lot of family near Austin, who I haven't seen in years.

Dad is from Texas (we try not to mention this in public:smile:) and this would make a great novelty gift for him. So, here is another non-texan, throwing in support.

Heck, bubba, I'm fixin' to become halfway good at my large formatrophy, and I'd be mighy glad to join all y'all fellow texans one of these fine days. I've done met Mr. Jeremy Moore, and he is a mighty good fellah, and I'd be delighted to meet more of y'all.

Please pardon my mixed up southern calligracophy, but I've been awatchin a bit too much of squidbillies, and its affecting my brain.

Well, gotta haul butt to work. Keep me in mind for whatever get togethers you folks come up with. It would be great to squeeze some group large format shooting between school and work, man.

take care,

André

I'm a 7th generation Texan, but in absentia since 1979 due to school and jobs. Height is still slightly greater than girth. Mirth level is a matter of taste. I'd be interested in the design on a shirt.

BTW, I know some postmodernists who would say the design is panorama-centric, but with scooterman on the job, what are ya gonna do? I'm open-minded enough to accept it for what it is. Maybe for the postmodern among us you could put it on the rear of spandex shorts so that it assumes the proportions of the wearer, but that assumes that people look like their cameras as well as their pets.

Yeeeeeeeehhhhh Haaahhhhhh!!!! Well I'll be dipped...that's one heck on an idea Matt.
Being a native and die-hard son of the Long Star State I think we not only need a T-shirt, but that logo might look good on a ball-cap or even as a patch on the old photo vest.

Count me in,

I'd buy one (and I'd definitely buy a hat, too).

I don't remember if cafepress lets you decide the t-shirt maker, but if American Apparel is one of their options, I highly recommend them. Second-most comfortable t-shirts I own, just the right thickness and soft.

Well Dean, if the ramp was hot you must have been in Texas

So sure, it counts...
