Laptopograms are images made by pressing photosensitive paper onto a laptop screen and flashing an image in a manner not unlike contact printing or photograms.

Here are some I made.

Thoughts?

Interesting, but not something that belongs on this forum. I suspect the moderators will suggest you post it on APUG's sister website for hybrid photo methods.

It would definitely be appropriate for APUG's sister site http://www.hybridphoto.com , but I'm not entirely sure whether it's that out of place on APUG, since the digital aspect of it is so thoroughly perverted (and I mean that in the most positive way). It's not unlike taping a sheet of photo paper to a television screen and developing it.

It would be interesting to see more threads on APUG about art made with photographic materials, but not necessarily with cameras, lenses, or even pinholes. We can see how it goes for a bit.

Very cool! I posted a while back about contact printing TV screens, and this is very similar, and done well.

On the topic of APUG-smuggery, there's no need to get pedantic with this whole digital thing. I mean, many film cameras have digital technology in them!... it still goes toward the pursuit of analog photography. I use a DIGITAL thermometer in the darkroom, whoopty doo....

I say, if the result is an analog photograph, then any means to get there is acceptable. Let us not go the way of the dodo, we APUGGERS must evolve!

And we shouldn't discourage a new member's VERY FIRST POST with, "...but not something that belongs on this forum". Leave that to the moderators.

To me, it seems appropriate (and quite creative). As the original poster said, it is like a photogram.
