You'll now see a translation tool at the bottom of every APUG forum and gallery page. This tool taps into a translation site on the net and seems to work quite well. Just choose your language and click "Translate APUG". It takes a few seconds for the page to fully load, but once the initial page is fully translated it keeps you browsing all pages in your language of choice (no need to click translate over and over). Hopefully this will come in handy for the international crowd!

-looks like it would have been a simple thing to install but don't ask!

This thing is GREAT!!!

Only one small problem ... I translated into French ... and was lost trying to return to English. Maybe a "Return to Original Language" in Esperanto - or something?
Is there an International symbol for "Back to Original"?

No Norwegian either...

but it doesn't really matter, except that it would be fun to see how Babelfish would turn fair English into mangled Norwegian

I tried to translate "single shot developer" into Scottish. Guess what came out? Glenfiddich single malt!

haha

Well, to be able to return to the original english site requires a babelfish frame at the top of the translated page. I will re-activate that. Try it now and see if that's better. I'll also check babelfish to see if they have more languages

Well the translation to spanish is a little bit akward but is better than most translators I have seen. At least wih this one the translation makes sense.

How about adding a "Jargon to English" dictionary? Translating terms like Bokeh, Sheimpflug, Hyperfocal, Reciprocity etc. .

Or maybe an Acronym to English: BTZS, PMK, ULF, APUG. :D

Yeah, I notice that too when translating pages into English. It works good enough to -sort of- understand but they still have a way to go.

It did? After I read this, I tried and tried -- but nothing. Possibly I'm looking in the wrong place ... just WHERE on this machine would the Single Malt come out of? Is there a tap of some sort?

I'll keep trying. I'm not going to miss a chance for a single malt.

Why is my wife looking at me like that... ?

Ed, don't be so blonde rooted. Just put your glass in the cuilt in drink holder on the computer and it will dispense once you hit translate!

Well Ed,

Try again but first disconnect the ICE mode on your film scanner. If this doesn't work ask Les MacLean. He knows about magic Highland potions.

*Ice* in single Malt?

If it was meant to be drunk differently, they would have put it in the bottle differently.

I hear that, In Scotland, there is now choice given to those convicted of Capital crimes: Either the gallows, or they strap you into a chair and force you to watch while they pour ginger ale into fine Single Malt.

I'd take the rope.

Whats with all the Gaelic sounding drink names? Roundabout here I know folks that can get you some very original Tennessee white lightning, not that I could drink the stuff. You *could* use it for dissolving the phenidone in for making the developers, but I'm not so sure how accurate the rest of the formula would be after the lightning encounter.

Gary,
I was in a bar out in the Georgia hills one time and they had the beer Sam Adams in the import section on the menu. Do you find that strange?

Could be because it's a class above the supermarket beers...?

Well, they did and maybe the clientele was fooled into paying import prices and thought they were very cool in the process. Stranger things have happened in life.
