So glad I found this site, it's nice to find a site devoted to analog photography in a world that seems to be tripping over itself to embrace the latest technology.
Though Ive been interested in photography all my life, a few years ago I took a couple of photography/darkroom classes at a community college, which really got me going on photography and specifically B&W. Right now I'm a 35mm shooter, but Im seriously looking to get into medium format soon. I also do some pinhole photography with a couple of converted Polaroid cameras. I primarily work in B&W (Ilford HP5+ and FP4+ are my favorites), with an occasional roll of Velvia thrown in for good measure. I'm currently in the process of setting up a modest darkroom, now that I have a little available space.
My favorite subjects are landscapes, ruins/abandoned structures and almost anything photographed at night.
By day, I'm a software programmer/analyst working in the higher education field, which may go a ways toward explaining why I'm not interested in turning my photography into another data processing exercise. I live in New Mexico, having moved here just over a year ago.
Im looking forward to being a part of this community, learning and contributing where I can.
