I just obtained (freeby) a 1500 series Jobo film dev. tank with a number of reels and center tubes. The lid is the cog version for the Jobo-Lift, but the funnel-shaped light trap is missing. Does anybody know if the funnel is removable and I just didn't get it or whether I've got a broken lid.

(I have a lid from a 2500 series tank and before I get too radical in attempting to remove it's funnel and try to fit it to the 1500 series lid, I thought I'd ask if the funnel is intended to come off at all. All of my Jobo equipment came used without any accompanying factory literature.)

I have the 1500 series tanks and also the 2840 tank which is quite huge in comparison. I was surprised to find that the funnel between the two is interchangeable.

Try yours they may interchange.

You could at a pinch, click on the cup, which is designed for non lift converted tank lids.

Bob F, you must have cheap beer in your part of the world, I've never seen anything cheap from Jobo!

Does it have no funnel? Or does it have the cup? The cup is for the print drum. It's been mentioned you can order a new funnel but with the price of used tanks I'm not sure it make sense.

The old Jobo website used to have a list of replacement parts. Including the funnels. Don't know if the new website does.

Yes, the "film" light trap is interchangeable between the 15xx and 25xx series tank lids (he said, not entirely sure about *all* JOBO tanks lids - at least they are with the lids *I* have..). The "cup" (print) light traps are interchangeable as well.

If you look at the surface of the film light (conical) trap that is "exposed" when assembled, you will notice two protruding "tabs" - there to provide access to torque by fingers, for assembly/ disassembly. Twisting the trap ... I don't remember if clockwise or anticlockwise... I don't think it really makes a difference... will disengage the light trap.

*MUCH* easier to do than to write about.

Funnel, not cup as I want to use it with film reels and the central core (thus mandating the funnel).

I managed to remove the funnel from the 2500 series lid and place it in the 1500 series lid. Simple procedure.

I shall now attempt now to find a replacement funnel so I don't wear out the little plastic locking tabs with continued removal/replacement.

Anybody in Canada know of a reliable Canadian source for Jobo parts? The local vendors are not knowledgeable in Jobo products.

Dave, I've been removing the little plastic funnel for drying and cleaning purposes after every roll(s) of film on the same set of drums for over 20 years now.

In one hectic year, I did over 3,000 rolls of film for some commercial related work.

Somehow I don't think I would be in a hurry to spend big money buying a new funnel, just wait until something comes up secondhand, it won't wear out quickly.

Canada hasn't had a Jobo distributor for years. You need to order from the US.
