Being completely disorganised, I didn't make any attempt to stock up on APX 100 rollfilm when I got wind of Agfa's demise. Having phoned around as many dealers as I can trace, I have found just one - yes, one - solitary roll still for sale, sitting sadly on a shelf somewhere in London.

Can anyone point me in the direction of places worth trying? I do have about 40 rolls left in my fridge, but they could easily be swallowed up by a couple of photographic trips.

I bought 50 rolls by www.prophot.fr (you can pay with a credit card) two weeks ago.
They have perhaps stocks and you are in the CEE.

Fantastic! My parents live in France and I'm going to see them next weekend, so I'll order some to be delivered to their address. Thanks so much for the suggestion.

Hello Robert,
I often buy chemicals, raw chemicals or films by prophot. Usually (in France) you get the goods two days after the purchase. The freight costs (for France, I have no idea for foreign countries ) are limited to 10€ whatever your purchase.

I have 2 rolls. I bought 5 just to try it and didn't really like it. Keeping them in the freezer along with 5 rolls of velvia 50 (which I also will never use again either) so in a year I can sell them like this on ebay:

OMG !!!!!11!! very ***rare*** Agfa apx 100. Last 2 rolls EVA EVA!!!1!! A++++ no longer made!

One place which may be worth keeping an eye on is Aperture in Museum Street near the British Museum. I found 10 rolls of APX25 there a couple of months ago. It was sold to them by one of their customers. They assured me it had been cold-stored, and my test roll showed it to be fine. They only wanted one pound per roll (!)

Definately try Jessops, my local store had some a week ago, and seems they have a few rolls in many of their stores.

I still have quite a bit left, just a little 5x4, also some APX25, and AP25

Personally I find Tmax100 gives me extremely similar results but only at half the ISO, I've used both heavily over the past 18yrs - I had to switch to Tmax when Agfa stopped B&W sheet films.

Hi Fintan,

I'm not sure what part of Ireland you live in but if you are in Dublin try John Gunn on Wexford Street as he has lots of APX100 on the shelf. I just got a few rolls yesterday. I'm sure they would post film to you if you are not able to get to them.

Regards,
Peter

Pleased to say that the film arrived safe and sound. I placed the order on Sunday evening, and they tried to deliver it to my parents' place on the Friday, but couldn't find it! That was completely my fault, however, as I didn't give detailed directions to their house, which is in the sticks. The parcel was left at the village post office and I just collected it from there, so no hassle.

I'm really impressed with the service from Prophot - very professional and prompt. But don't expect too much from the internet tracking facility - just out of interest I took a look at my account details yesterday, and according to them my order is still 'Proceeding'!

All APX films are available in 35mm and 120 rolfilm (next month) in the Rollei Retro 100/400 program.

Retro 100/400 35mm we have on stock.
Films we can send easy worldwide. Chemicals (e.g. Rodinal) is more difficult outside Europe.

Best regards,

Robert
