After raising 5 kids I am able to pursue my art, Abstract Photography. I am currently in two juried gallery shows, a member show at the Buenaventura Gallery and an Erotic themed show at the Artists Union Gallery and on permanent exhibit in the Billy Rose Gallery. All these galleries are located in Ventura California. My camera is a Nikon FM3A and I shoot slide film and crossprocess it like color negative film and enlarge it useing traditional darkroom techniques making Chromogenic Prints from 8 x10 to 20x24 on kodak metallic paper. I have a website rivasart.com.

I just checked out your website and though I don't understand a lot of the images I do enjoy a lot of it on a purely aesthetic level. One suggestion I have, though, is to replace the portrait of yourself with something a little more professional. Maybe even a cross-processed self-portrait!

The idea is for you to either find the image interesting or not. If it's interesting ----What do you imagine you see? Great color.. Would it look good on the wall behind my sofa?
Jeremy, you are the second person to suggest I put a more fitting photo on my website. I'll do it.

This is actually how I looked at the images. There were some I liked, some I did not, and a few I was undecided upon--all of them were interesting. If part of the goal is to invoke thought then they are a wild success.

My previous comment is completely sincere and I greatly enjoyed browsing your website (I have it bookmarked for further perusal). After re-reading it the post comes across rather sarcastic, but none was meant at all.

I checked out the website also. Great work!. It makes you go beyond what you see to explore so many different possibilities.

One of the only times I was in Ventura, was taking a group of teenage girls on a scouting trip to Emma Wood State Beach. you know the one, that is about an 1/8 of mile wide, sandwiched between the freeway and the railroad tracks. and adjacent to the place called hobo junction. Needless to say my adventure was punctuated with heavy fog and temps that would send even Eric Rose for his thermals. Yet wnet I just drive through it is sunny and nice.
