I've got a Nikon F5 that is missing the two tiny covers that go over the remote port and the port that is used for connecting to the PC. I've been trying to find replacements, but with no luck. Anybody know what they are called (officially) and where I can get them?

I have found these on eBay searching for "nikon f5 terminal cap". Someone sells them there all the time, about $5 a piece.

Jeff,
Those things are a pita to get. Try going to Nikon service dept. They're not considered an accessory but a service part.

Thanks for the advice. ebay was the solution. It is cheaper to order them from a seller in Britain, than it is to order from Nikon (and that includes shipping).

Ordered a few of each.

FYI, they can be found on Penn Camera's website as Nikon PC synch cap f/f100 and Nikon remote cap f/f100. I've always wondered why people obsess over these things. They will simply get lost later on. Photographers have managed to do without these sorts of caps for decades...

You can always try

Authorized Photo Service
8120 N. Lehigh Ave. Suite 105, Morton Grove IL 60053
Tel: (847) 966-4091 Fax : (847) 966-4101

They're Nikon's repair facility. I've always gotten a fair shake from them.

Because without covers, the contacts corrode and the connections don't work!
