I just thought I would pass a bit of info on to everyone here.
I recently purchased some B&W paper on ebay. It was advertised as Ilford Fiber warmtone semi-matte double-weight paper. It was going cheap so I bid.
I won a couple of boxes for under $20 each. When they finally arrived, the paper was in black boxes with an inkjet label stating "ilford warmtone". Also the seller jammed more than 100 sheets into a 100 sheet box.
Well, I tested a few sheets and not only is it NOT warmtone, but none of the pieces match each other in color or surface. Also, I believe them to be single weight and not double weight.
I contacted the owner of this company and he said to return the paper. He also would not discuss the matter because he was "too busy". But he did tell me in writing that the paper was cut from so-called master sheets and then repackaged. It does not state this anywhere in his auction description.
So, be advised. I will not list the sellers ID here but if you want to know more, please feel free to contact me.
