Hi, everyone
I have the possibility to buy a Dust 805 enlarger with an Ilford Multigrade 500 head.
Does anybody have experience with that kind of head? Good or bad.
Hello, I have the Ilford 500 H head and I love it. Split filter printing is a breaze because I can program up to 9 different exposures for a print. Rarely do I use more tha 3 or 4 but the possibilities are great. The head is also very bright and when making small prints it is almost too fast. Plus the mixing boxes decrease exposuer times a lot. It is not built as well as some other heads but for personal use it is great. Good luck, Ken
Hi Ken,
Thanks for your answer. May I ask some more information?
On what kind of enlarger do you use the head and how accurate is the distribution of the light on your easel?
I'm back again. Today I saw the Multigrade head. And there was a problem. The item where you have to give some input to let work the automatic scharpness don't work. Only the button for the scharpness of the objective is working.
Is the possibility of the automatic scharpness really necessary?
What if the whole bloc is no more working? To throw away the whole head?
Or is it possible to let repair the inside of the electronica?
Hi, I don't understand what you mean. I have a 500 H, which may be different from a 500. It is on a Beseler 45 and I have had no problems with light distribution. I hope that I can be of some help because my Ilford head works great. Ken
