Ok, I should have asked this question to before I started looking for portfolio albums but here goes anyway.

How do people generally susubmit or present there work? In an album style portfolio or a clamshell box with mounted and matted prints? Or do people use both types?

hi mike

i present my work 3 ways -
one is a leather bound hand made book that portfoliobox.com made me. i have b+w 11x14s in there, all cropped and printed in a series. i also have a website that i direct people to so they can get a glimpse of what i have to offer. lastly, i have a museum box with mounted single edition prints - they are all printed on 8x10 paper (smaller image than 8x10) mounted in 16x20 2+4ply window mats. when i went to galleries, i used show the box, when i try to find a client i bring the book (+website) ...

good luck!
john
