As you know , I am brute forcing to make my lens.

I found a excellent design from zeiss which most important part could be manufactured with telescope mirror making method.

I contacted with a glass selling company which will help me to find help from schott glass makers.

I think a piece of lak 7 will work for it.

How can we make it easier to manufacture ? Is it possible to use fron element alone or with a ready made achromat or zeiss aspherical ready lens ?
Just look its drawing , its willy merte 1935 design.

Hmm. Why do all of the designs have a rear group?

Good question .

I thought , I could simplyfy the rear group or remove it.

And what happens if I find thicker glass than the designed thickness for the front element ?

As you can know , I cant make the glass block thinner .

Can schott carve the piece to desired thickness ?
Or who can do it ?
or what is the method of lens makers to make glass block thinner ?

And most importantly , is it possible to build the front element from the plastic ? I guess , it might be thicker and curved than the original design .
How can I make computer calculate this final piece ?

Mustafa,

get OSLO.

The big plano-concave lens element is not the "lens", but more of a "field flattener" or "aperture tilter" (look up Mikhail Roosinov). The little rear group is where the "good stuff" happens.

Ole ,

free oslo makes calculations for 6 surfaces , we have here 8 surfaces
kdp is extremelly hard to operate program.
I think i might look for another software.

Do you know anyone who can help me to simplyfy , recalculate the lens ?

Can you explain what is field flattener or aperture tilter ?

I saw this design at lomo anamorphic cinema lenses.

Mustafa, check out WinLens at the Linos Photonics website. Linos IIRC is the North American distributor for Rodenstock lenses, both manufactured photographic lenses, and individual elements. One benefit of the software is if you would like to use standard Rodenstock shapes you can look up the serial number on their website and the program has all the specs programmed in to it.
