Made a bit of a mistake and exposed some FP4 at 320ASA.

When I realised I wound on the film (120) so I can process this individual roll accordingly.

Anyone got any tips for best developer / time for this?

I normally use ID11 for general purpose work.

Thanks for any help,
Matt.

Stand development in FX-2 should do it without much loss of shadow detail AND without too much contrast.

FX-2, diluted 1+1, agitate first 30 seconds, then for 30 seconds after half an hour, leave for another hour.

FP4 in Diafine is around EI 250 apparently. Give that a try.

Ilford recommendation for speed increasing is DDX, and about 14 mins in that seems about right by extrapolating the given times for other EIs in Ilford's docs.

FX-2 is a do-it-yourself recipie (http://www.jackspcs.com/fx2.htm) unless you buy it ready mixed from The Formulary in the US. It needs glycin, of which the only known source is the aforementioned Formulary... I have bought stuff from them before with no problems if you want to go down that route.

Sorry, can't help with any personal experience.

Cheers, Bob.

For a short while, Monochrom in Germany had glycin in stock. So I bought some from them, thinking to make Ansco130 (print developer). Glycin has a fairly short shelf life, so I tried everything with glycin in it, and discovered the advantages on FX-2. I mix my own - and I still have plenty of glycin left.

the MDC shows FP4+ at 200 in ID-11 (1+1) for 15 minutes. I think if you went to 18 minutes or so you should be fine. The negs are going to be grainy but at least you'll have an image.

You underexposed by 1 1/3 stop, not two.

Thanks very much for the help everyone.

I would very much like to try the FX-2 route, but I haven't the time to get hold of the ingredients - I need to have these developed and printed in a few days.

As I have got the ID-11 to hand I will have a crack at that at 18 minutes - I take it that is 20/68 degrees?

The subject matter will probably suit a bit of grain anyway.

Thanks,

Matt

I would suggest Kodak Xtol for push processing. The Massive Development Chart lists times for FP4+ exposed at EI's of 250, 500, and 1000.
