Well I am going back to school at the ripe old age of 34 for B&W photography. I used to own a Canon T70 and sold it years ago (bad mistake). I then went digital and currently have a Nikon D100 and Canon 1D.

Well, since my class started, I have bought an EOS3, Durst M301 enlarger and an entire darkroom from sellers on Ebay of course. I am now developing my negatives and printing 8x10's at home.

This has been the most rewarding experience for me in all my years of photography. I shoot digital for clients, sports and home interiors, but film for me.

My son, age 5, helps me develop the pictures. He thinks we are making magic in the developer. The 1 on 1 time I spend with him in my temporary darkroom can never be replaced by Photoshop....ever.

So I am glad to be here and have plenty of catching up to do on the posts.

Welcome David,

I also learned the darkroom work from my Father. It is a good memory that I will carry with me all my life.

I look forward to your participation in the forums and galleries.

Another recovering digital-aholic. Good luck with your 7 stop program and welcome to the group.

Welcome. It's great to teach the next generation... it'll keep interest up in film. Of course, my five year old decided it was too boring in the darkroom, and ran out when I had a print in the stop bath! (Well... he ws four at the time!) I think I may get him a Holga over the holidays.

Looking forward to seeing your work in the galleries.

7 stop program. Whoosh, that's gonna be hard..

Gallery? Oooohhhh....I am not that good yet, at least I don't think so. I am getting a Minolta Scanner next week, so I will see what I have to offer to the gallery.

After moving from film to digital and now back to film (more hardcore than before), I get so tired of seeing the film is dead threads.

I highly doubt film is going to die. I believe its going to turn back into the art form it was back in when it started. I think some real talent is going to evolve from those that print their own photos.

I tell ya one thing. My creative is definitely being pushed by not being able to chimp. I am forced to see the photo before I hit the button. Very cool. Now I wish I can only learn to see in black&white. I know, it'll happen.....
