Hopefully I've negotiated the registration & membership correctly...I guess we'll see if this note posts or not. Last week, a buyer of one of my light seal kits mentioned this site, and I have to say it looks very good. Sorry I've missed it up to this point. Some of you may know me...on E-Bay I'm Interslice. That's about it for now. I use, collect and repair cameras, sell light seal and a few other things. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Indeed, welcome in this place. But you better watch out - there is a very infectuous disease going round this forum. You'll know when the virus has struck when you start having rather inexplicable yearnings for large or even ultra large format photography.

We see it happen here on a daily basis. Just last week someone bought a new toy: a 7x17" back.

There is no known cure yet.

Cheers,

Welcome. Bought one of your kits some time ago - still have most of it left (you do realise you are doing yourself out of repeat custom by including so much stuff! ). Still, there's always more old cameras whose light seals have turned to goo...

Cheers, Bob.

Wow, thanks folks!

A nice surprise! A warm welcome and a compliment on the seal kits, too. Nice way to make a very hot Saturday morning seem a bit nicer. Oh, and let's see, I received a couple of warnings...there was one on medium & large format gear. I think I successfully divorced myself from that almost 30 years ago, but occasionally I get a temptatio...nope, can't have it. Can't do that again. And what else? The size of the kits. Actually the kits have just been improved, and the improvement was done to benefit the users of medium & large format equipment. In lieu of the 1/16" neoprene (which was really sort of redundant since there was 1.5mm open-celled foam), the kits now come with a sheet of 2mm open-celled foam which was used in some medium & large format gear. But the size of the kits has not decreased and the price has remained the same...I gave up becoming another Bill Gates by selling camera light seal materials several years ago. Thanks again for the nice welcome. Oh, in case anyone here needs any, I also have some nice shutter cloth (very thin and consistent--works well in Leica and clones) & shutter ribbons, also commercial double sided pressure sensitive adhesive (for many applications including but not limited to: Leather replacement, re-shuttering, re-fastening dial covers, re-fastening lens focus ring cushions, etc.). I sell it by word of mouth since the demand is occasional.

Welcome to Apug, where the camera bags (or boxes) weigh more than the membership. (Anyone here rent pack-mules for photo trips?) Have fun.

Welcome Jon, I just finished using the seal kit that you sent to Frank (which he bought for me), and I'm putting a roll of film through the camera (Yashica Electro G) now. Good to have you here.

Hi Jon, just finished replacing the seals in an old Nikon EM, even a DIY no brainer like me was able to follow the excellent instructions and sort my problems.

Welcome Jon!

This site is truly infectious......I have found it to be most helpful and such a wealth of information, it is so great to have access to the knowledge of those so much more intelligent than I.

......however I do know the cure for the 7 x 17 toy........it is a 14 x 17 camera which enables one to comfortably execute the verticles with the 7 x 17 back.

Greetings from eastern Canada.

Hi Jon,
I just mailed my payment for your light seal kit. From all reports it looks like I made a good decision.

Welcome aboard Jon! You'll like this group of folks...

I've been using your seals for a long time now for my 35mm bodies. I recently re-sealed all 7 of my 120 backs for my Bronica SQ-A with your kits - great stuff!

For those of you who haven't tried Jon's seal kits... you don't know what you're missing.

Look at that! There are all sorts of folks I know here. Thanks again for the great welcome...and all these compliments. Normally I keep a $50 bill or two handy for nice words like those, but...well, did I tell you I had to pay for a wedding this summer? Probably enough said, eh? No, it wasn't mine. Mine was a..er, um a few years ago when they were cheaper and a "reception" meant cake and punch in the basement of the church. You know back around the Bi-Centennial celebration? The Swine Flu Vaccination Fiasc...er Program? The AMC Gremlin? ASA 1000 film? Tom Snyder and the TOMorrow Show? Uri Geller? Joey Heatherton actually being married to Lance "pull up your pants" Rentzel? Things were different back then. Well, anyway...weddings were cheaper, and the Cowboys would not hesitate to fire players who exposed themselves. And that reminds me...the last apartment I lived in before I got married was right next door to one of the Cowboy cheerleaders. No, she never exposed herself...doggone it.
