I help teach at the University of South Carolina, and we had a really great artist come down for a guest lecture and workshop, Larry Racioppo. He is the staff photog for the city of New York Building Commission (?) --I think that is the right name for it-- and has been photographing dilapidated, abandoned and vacant buildings and structures throughout New York for personal work for years. A large format and 617 Pano shooter, he does is the best color printer I have met to date. (Granted I havent met many, but his work blows anything I have seen previously out of the water) It was really amazing to see 40x50" enlargements from an 8x10. Has anyone run across this artist before? Sadly, none of his stuff that I have found online even comes near to the work he brought down with him. This seems less of a discussion post, but I wanted to sing the praises of a really cool artist and new friend. Hope you get a chance to see his work or meet him, I think it is worth it.
