Great deal on Koudelka's Gypsies at Aperture's 2023 Memorial Day Sale

No affiliation with Aperture, but the book is on sale for $34! It's normally $85. It's even much cheaper than from Amazon, and it'll actually get to you in one piece from Aperture.

I already have the book but I figured I'd pass this along so others could take advantage of it.

Problem with the way their website is set up is that when they have such deals, all prices appear slashed, even for the books that have long been out of print. Such is the case, for example, with Larrain's Valparaiso.

Yeah, I've been caught out by that a few times as well.

They do have Larrain's 'London' in stock for $38.50, which is a pretty good deal.

London is a wonderful book. You're lucky to have a copy of Valparaiso. I've been dreaming about it for years. Cheapest copy I've seen recently on the used market is 766$US...

Wow! It's a great book, but nearly $800?? That's insane.

Prices of some out-of-print photobooks have gone bonkers. Camera West recently launched a photo bookstore on their web site. I was browsing it and saw that they were selling the 2015 Steidl reissue of Cartier-Bresson's The Decisive Moment for $1000! I bought my copy new in 2017 for $75. I laughed and said to myself "that book will never sell for that price". A week later it was gone. Go figure...

I saw the Camera West listing for the Decisive Moment re-issue as well. I had to double check my copy to see if there was some other edition I never knew about. Crazy.
