I'm getting ready to list some Grafmatic backs in the classifieds. Way back when, I removed the wheels. I have them and can put them back in, but that could mean the next owner might have to go to the trouble of taking them out after I've gone to the bother of putting them back in.

Would most people prefer to have them in or out? I'd send the wheels with them in any case.

My vote is for the wheels - they're invaluable in keeping track of which image is which.

Hi !
I use the wheels all the time.
When I first get the Grafmatic, a friend of mine showed me how to remove the wheel on his grafmatic. So I thought, I'll do that !
Then I put six sheets into mine and tested the thing. As I take notes of my photographic sessions recording a lot of parameters, I thougt I did not need the numbers. False. Some times, different F-stop number give not so different negatives. So the numbers are really usefull to match which film goes with the notes...
Now, I own several Grafmatics and I plan to use clear tracing Mylar to number the holders.
Of course, you may enjoy doing otherwise !

I pulled the wheels out on all of my grafmatics when I bought them--with pliers.

I have two grafmatics and have just removed the wheels, to the great improvement of my photography. Sell them without!

Take 'em out. They impinge on the image area.

I'm also interested in knowing when you put them up for sale....

Well, the tide's shifted but it's too late. I put them all back in.

Don't worry, they can be easily removed. In fact, when I list them, I'll offer to remove them again if the buyer wishes. The ad will appear in the classifieds soon. I need to give them a cleaning and take some pictures for the ad.

Thanks

If you leave them in, the purchaser can obviously take them out. If they're yanked out with pliers, then that cuts out part of the potential resale market and could reduce the auction price.

Barbarian!

I am usually much more gentle with equipment, but I didn't feel the need to keep them in, plus I will never sell them, so out they came. The post was somewhat of a joke. Maybe I should have put a smiley face after the pliers.
