I put together a pretty nice Graflex XL outfit, but I have come to the realization that I just am not going to use it. Too many other cameras and projects going on. I dreamed of this as a kid, and the basics are all still there. Quick coupled rangefinder focusing with all lenses, 6x6, 6x7, 6x9 formats, sheet film ready, groundglass focusing for accuracy or macro, top drawer glass, small, quiet and easy to handle.
This outfit includes 58mm Grandagon f5.6 wide, 80mm Zeiss Planar f2.8, 150mm Rodenstock Ysarex f4.5, 180mm Rodenstock Rotelar f4.5 lenses. They are all in nearly mint condition cosmetically. The 58mm is showing “Schneideritis” which will not affect the image, there are also the beginnings of separation in the rear group, but unless you hold the lens in a particular position you can’t see it. I suspect it will have no effect on image quality. The 80mm 1/400 shutter speed does not always work, but it is good and accurate up to 1/200.
The outfit includes a 6x7 roll film back, a spare 220 insert that works fine with 120, and a spare jammed 220 insert for parts. There is also the very useful Graflok groundglass for critical focusing which is new in box. Topside I have the sports finder with 4 additional sports finder masks. The side handle with cable release is very handy.
The camera body is in very nice cosmetic and functional condition. No cracked viewfinder glass as many of them do. The rangefinder is accurate and coupled to all the lenses. It is slightly off vertically, but I never bothered to open it up and adjust it, as it does no affect accuracy.
I would prefer to sell the whole kit together. I am looking to get $1000 for it all, significaltly less than I paid for all the pieces. PayPal preferred, shipped via USPS Priority Mail at cost, I’ll take care of the PayPal fees. My usual guarantee: if you don’t like it, send it back for a refund within 14 days.
