People from this contry seems to embrace the Dig"""l world with open arms.

But then they seems to reject the analouge world in the process...

Good for me!

I just had three interesting encounters with friendly people...

the first one came up here, and brought me an old 4x5 MPP wiew camera, with a nice Schneider lens, and three interesting small Zeiss Luminar lenses (for macro work) in shutter...

a gift, he said.

The second phoned me this afternoon.
he has two Durst Laborator's (138) with a lot of lenses to go with it - a Plaubel 4x5 wiew camera, and a Hasselblad with several lenses....

Not as a gift (as it comes from a museum, and museums can't by law give things away), but as a "loan" as long as I want....

The third is a commercial photographer going Digi""l.
I am not excately sure what he has, but he mentioned "some Sinar's and some Pentaxes among other stuff....

My only problem here is, that I am running out of space to place my enlargers... and the Hasselblad is too fragile for my students to use..

Still - I feel blessed.

I have space! I will rent you some for £0.00 per month. That should cover just enough space to store a 4x5 enlarger. I will even include a free maintenance contract with regular checks to make sure it keeps working.

Steve.

the problem her is, that it is 13x18 (5x7) enlargers - huge and heavy, so shipping to england might be prohibitive....

Why! You could go on an early (beat the crowd to it) pre-Christmas shopping spree in London, dropping off the enlarger on your way (a slight detour, but why not?).
:D

You lucky so and so...

That would be more than a slight detour! (but don't let that put you off).

Wow! I'm not sure what part of Denmark you are in, but, I have visited Kopenhagen 5-6 times (while visiting my wife's family in Malmö) and it seems like I run into camera stores everywhere I turn. Maybe I was just the part I was in. I never have the opportunity to see them all but always find something to buy. Congrads on the gifts though, maybe next time I visit your country I will meet people so nice. LOL

Emil - I very rarely see this headline, so naturally, I had to look what the fuss was about.

I have room for a Laborator 138 if you run out of space...as you know, I live very close to you, in Central Denmark. I'll even offer to come over and pick it up myself....

If you are running out of space, then you need to create more space or take some space and use it for photography. Who needs that extra bedroom or that spacious basement?

I bought a Durst 138s (with a 210 Schneider Componon-S and 150 Rodestock) for fifty bucks a few years ago. A local college got into digital and so they sold off all of their older equipment. At the same sale, I got two 504 Deveres with dichroic heads (one 250 watt, one 500 watt), also for fifty bucks each. I didn't have the space back then, but I do now (of course, there is now much less space in my basement for other things! :D).

well - a couple of issues here: no basement here - no extra bedroom either...

And I (or rather my school and me) now has 4 (!!) Durst 138's + a huge IFF 13x18 enlarger...
+ all the rest of them...

Søren: I may (I'll find out tonight if I can) have one for you...
(I know about a 5th 138...) and the guy wants to give it away...

You have FOUR 138's? Well, it sounds to me like you are going to have to learn a lesson from your neighbours, the Dutch, and reclaim a bit of land from the sea! If you can find a space to install this wonderful equipment, you will have a terrific darkroom club.

I know- I know...
the problem is space.

(People tell me: either you take this or I'll take it to bits and throw it out... and I can't take the thought of that.)

Nah... From Denmark... Isle of Wight or London. Nothing!

No need to go to London anyway - we have shops here. And better scenery!

Jeg skal gerne sørge for et godt, midlertidigt hjem til et Pentax eller Hasselblad. Det er heller ikke længere væk end at du kan besøge det hvis det er

I will search long and hard for a good home for a Pentax or a Hasselblad. It will be close enough for you to come and visit. I'm Swedish. Is that like cheating?

He was writing how glad he was that the Pentax and Hasselblad found a good home at Gandolfi's after having travelled for so long. And that he wouldn't want anything like that happen to him, would hate to find himself presented which such nice stuff for nought.

I have a feeling that your translation is exactly the reverse of what was actually written - especially the last bit!
