This is a great little enlarger. Pretty straight forward. I have one and it does a lot for what it is. Just in case someone is lookin'.

I think the broken knob mentioned is the vertical lock. The stud is still there. A knob of some sort should be able to be affixed no problem. Here is a link to a 50mm enlarging lens, good for 35mm.

LENS

If someone gets this and it does not come with a 35mm neg carrier, I have a spare.

$30 for shipping and perhaps even more for the enlarger sounds expensive to this old skinflint. Also, a patient buyer might get an EL-Nikkor for the price of the Lucky lens.

It's a little higher than what I got mine for ($48 s/h incl) three years ago. But I didn't think it was all that bad. And right-o on the lens.

Keep'em coming. A mod might change the title of this thread to available inexpensive enlarger. And don't forget to check the APUG classifieds as well.

The Omega D5 that IC-Racer posted was already sold within a day or two of posting. Someone I know is looking for a 4x5 capable enlarger, but is in WV. There are some good deals to be had, especially on Craigslist.

Or you could use the sticky that's already in the lounge.

Yup. We'll see how this goes, and if it makes sense, we'll merge them, since this sort of information is already generally posted in that thread.

ic-racer, what the heck is that enlarger? I'm in Kansas City and had emailed him before he posted pictures. The leaves and debris on it drove me off. It looked like a junker to me, but I have an untrained eye when it comes to these things. Is it somehow useful?

That's an Elwood enlarger for 8x10" negs. Fantastic deal for $25. I wouldn't worry too much about the debris at that price. Cleaning won't be so hard. It's a good deal even if it requires some fiddling to align it and needs a new bellows and maybe you have to make your own neg carrier. A big question is whether the diffuser glass is all there. That's what is usually missing from old Elwoods. I think there are supposed to be three pieces of glass that go above the neg stage, each more frosted in the center than at the edges to even out the light output.

A pity these are all in the US - You're making me jealous

I'd quite like a 4x5-capable enlarger, but am in the UK - Shipping might be expensive...

To add to what David wrote on that enlarger that looks like an Elwood; it seems to me that using that as a starting point for an enlarger is going to be so, much better than scratch building an enlarger or converting a camera into an enlarger.

I'd pay $25 just for the challenge of seeing if I could get it working!

I'm not sure how this post started, but I recently bought all the enlargers from a local school district. Apparently they are going all digital and shutting down their darkrooms. A shame, I know. I have several Beseler 23C's if anyone is interested. They are in nice shape, with negative carrier and various lenses.
They're likely going to Ebay soon. Shipping is not cheap, but I will only charge what it costs me to pack and ship.
Let me know if interested.

I recognize the username from way back, Steve. Heck, you've been here longer than I have. Why not put up some classifieds here on APUG and link them here.
