Thought I would share a good experience with a camera service guy I had this week. Alan Robertson from F 16 Camera Service in Brisbane did a nice job re-boring a larger hole in a lens board for me with 3 day turnaround including two days of postage! He says he can repair or machine almost anything provided he has accurate specifications. A pleasure to deal with.
Here are the details:
F16 Camera Service
243 Victoria Ave
Margate QLD 4019
f16camera@digisurf.net.au

I should also put in a plug for Scott Vantoff from Mainline Photographics in Crows Nest, Sydney who referred me to Alan.

the great Mr Jackie Wong in Sydney

Just wanted to add Mr Wong to the tiny list of uber friendly and efficient camera wallahs in Tinseltown. He's never too busy to spend time explaining how a thing works- even to the point of doing a fast focus adjustment- FOR FREE - while you wait!-
He beats the pants of all those dudes that want to sell you used gear and then dont want to give the time of day- and that appiles to most.
You can find him on the 5th floor in the Dymocks building in George- look for the LEGEND sign- and he is!
