I've been playing around with making a longish (101+) step wedge in PS using linear gradient (normal mode/100% opacity) and the pixelate>mosaic filter. I'm hoping to paintbucket this with my 'ideal' color and was wondering if I can expect to get an accurate gradient to plot a curve from using this method...it seems too simple to work well. I'd love to use Chart Throb but I'm stuck with ps v6 for the time being. Has anyone tried this, or have I just stumbled assbackward into common knowledge?

Thanks Loris for the help. Unfortunately I'm excel illiterate, sad to say. But I do intend to learn it soon and have saved your info. I do appreciate it very much.
