FS: Wista 45D 4x5 + 5x7 Field Camera

  1. For sale is a Wista 45D 4x5 metal field camera with some interesting accessories.
The camera is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. All movements are smooth and the locks are positive. The bellows is light-tight and supple. The only minor issue is that the old foam on the back has left a thin coating on the bellows frame. There's no problem leaving it as is, but it might be better to clean it off. The ground glass is clean.

This is a very versatile camera, with geared rise and manual shift and tilt on the front standard. The rear has tilt, swing and micro-swing.

    Wide Angle Bellows:

This accessory allows you to use wide angle lenses easily. There are a few pinholes in the rear folded portion. The bag portion is alright.

    5x7 Extension Back:

This is a wooden back, and is quite rare. I've seen only a couple for sale so far. This is an easy way to add the 5x7 format to your gear. It simply clips on to the back like the normal back. There are a few marks on the body, and the original foam has been replaced with velvet. It takes modern 5x7 film holders.

  3. Hi Kumar,

Do I still need the wide angle bellows to use a 90mm lens?

  4. Hi Raoul,

No, for 4x5, the regular bellows will work with a 90mm lens on a flat board. A recessed board will give you a little more leeway.
