Since I just walked into a room full of people I don't know, I thought I'd say hello...

I live in Los Angeles and Tokyo, and I've been takin' pics since I was a kid. In fact, I really didn't have a choice about it since my mom was a fashion photographer - I had to help out more often than not. In the end though, I am very happy about my early experience(s). We also travelled as a family a lot which led to more great empirical experiences.

I've taken pics for 15 years or so in a semi-serious manner. I am looking to learn, make friends & to seriously take it all to a higher plain.

Cheers!

G'day!

Los Angeles AND Tokyo, eh? Glutton for megalopolis punishment... My village has maybe 1200 souls (as and the old joke goes, maybe twice as many people) but we're all welcoming here.

Cheers,

I hate to say this, but I think yours is bigger than mine.

Hi,

Welcome from the Big Apple!

I'm from New York City and can relate to large metropolitan centers - they provide constant stumuli that excite the senses and challenge us in wonderful ways. Also provide myriad opportunities to prevent genetic inbreeding!

Haven't been to LA in a while - would like to get back there soon. My wife visits Tokyo often - someday I'm going to convince her to bring me back some Nikon gear!

You'll have fun here.

Mine's got smaller over the years. At one point I lived on the King's Road in Chelsea, and later I met my wife in Los Angeles. When we were first married we lived in Bristol (in the UK); then Guadalupe (in California); then Minnis Bay on the Kent coast; now Moncontour...

Rich ancient Romans had it right, I think. They'd live on their estates in the country until puberty; go to Rome for 40 years or so; then retire to their estates.

Last night my wife and I were talking about the possibility of moving further south. I look forward to the future with (as ever) a mixture of pleasure and apprehension.

Cheers,

R.

I live in a rural town/villege, but it has 50,000 people! It's pretty close to Kyoto, Nara, and Mt.Koya. If you come this way, let me know.
