I have just received a box of Fotospeed Legacy Glossy FB paper and have a couple questions for anybody that has experience with this paper.

1) Does this paper react well to selenium and what are some recommended dilutions to start with.

2) Does this paper respond to localized bleaching

3) What % of drydown should I expect

4) Are their any developers that work better than others with this paper. I am planning on using ansco 130

Thank you for your help and responses.

Legacy is my favourite paper. I dev it in Fotospeed Warmtone, which gives just the right degree of warmth I like. I've also used Ilford Multigrade dev for a more neutral colour. I find it tones well generally. I find selenium at 1:9 for 10 minutes gives a slight 'plummy' colour shift. Drydown is about 5% (less than Ilford Warmtone FB). It also gives a lovely 'chocolate' colour in Agfa Viradon (sulphide).

Let us know what you thhink of it.

I've used Legacy since Fotospeed introduced it a couple of years ago and rate it very highly. My response to your questions is:-

1) It responds well to selenium but does so more slowly than other papers that I use. I dilute selenium 1 to 9 and tone by inspection rather than time, generally darker prints tone quicker than lighter prints.

2) I use both ferricyanide and iodine without problems

3) My drydown test show that this paper dries down by 10% but I'd urge you to do your own test.

4) I have used a variety of developers, Fotospeed Grade Select two bath, Fotospeed Warmtone, Dektol, LPD and Zone VI my favourite being Zone VI but this is very subjective.

Calumet Photo in the US is the only retail outlet I am aware of that offers the Zone VI developers.

Les, I have seen you recommend Zone VI developer several times in different threads and went looking for it on the web but cannot find a UK supplier. Where do you get it from as I fancy giving it a try.

Many thanks

Paul, Zone VI developer is not available in the UK but being a frequent visitor to the US I always bring a few packs back each time I visit.
