Hi, does anyone have any experience with Fomatol PW, a powder based Foma paper developer? I have just bought a box but the instructions are all in Czech.

I am hoping that as it is a glycine-hydroquinone developer it will be very similar to Ansco 130 (which I have read a lot about on the APUG threads) which I have always wanted to try but I have never been able to get hold of any glycine.

Anyway, looking at the pack it is clear that the powder makes a litre of developer but is this as a stock solution that can be further diluted to a working solution or is to be used neat?

Also, should I use it as a one shot or can I use and re-bottle the liquid for later darkroom sessions?

Any experience or opinions would be very interesting.

Many thanks

I have no personal experience with this product, but a quick Web search turned up this PDF:

Dead Link Removed

According to the PDF, the developer may be used straight (undiluted), 1+1, or 1+3. The latter two options aren't recommended for all papers, though, and the PDF only refers to Foma papers, so you may need to track down which they are to see if you could extrapolate. (For instance, are the higher dilutions recommended only for Foma's FB papers?) The PDF recommends not storing the developer for long periods, but it doesn't quantify this.
