What does anyone know about Agfa Z fixer? Ingredients listed on the jug are water, ammonium thiosulfate and sodium sulfite. Is this an alkaline type fixer?

If that's all, it's an alkaline (or close to) rapid fixer.

I suspected as much. You know how you can pop the lid off the tank a minute or two after you pour in acid fix? If you use a water rinse and this stuff, don't!
I managed to fog two rolls of film , not having this happen before never suspected it would happen. Apparently the Rodinal kept working while the fixer was doing its job.

You may be right. I use something similar (homemade), and never take a peek before the expected clearing time (some 3 min).

But this wasn't because I knew - it's just to play safe.
