I have this tripod , I did not understand why they planted red thing in front of screw. I cant attach any camera. Should I cut it ? I bought several screws for my 1938 Leica III but red thing dont allow me to attach iy.

I think that red pin mates with a hole that some MF cameras have, to stop the camera from rotating once it's mounted on the plate. One of my tripod heads has a pin like that, with a slot in so you can unscrew it from the plate if you don't need it. I think you'll find the screw-slot in the bottom of the pin (accessible from the bottom of the plate once you detach the plate from the tripod).

In the past, the video cameras I’ve used had a hole in the base that accepted a pin on the QR plate to orient the camera correctly. That may be what that is.

That is an anti rotation pin. It can be removed from the underside of the quick release plate. It is normally made of a slightly flexible plastic and split on the bottom. You press the two split halves toward each other to disengage them and push the anti rotation pin out of the top of the plate. It's sort of tricky to do the first time. I'll see if I can find the instructions from manfrotto.

Edit: I couldn't find instructions but here's what the thing looks like once you get it out

They're upside down in this picture but you can see where they are split. You push the split halves together and it presses right out.
