I noticed a small amount of part of my thumbprint on the bottom edge of an 8x10 negative I processed and dried last night. Rewashing had no effect. Is this permanent? If not, what solutions are there for removing it? If it is, is there anything that can be done during printing to make it less noticeable? Thanks in advance.

Wet the negative in warm water and gently rub the part with the finger print. Prefrably with gloves. It should do the trick.
